Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo

Cinderella has always been my favorite all around Disney movie for so many reasons, it was fun to be able to do this piece. Although it looks exactly like the Disney movie and nothing like the Disney movie at the same time there was a lot of research, references, color studies, thumbnails ect that went into it=) I do this same process for most of my work.

Paper, gouache, Prismacolor markers and colored pencils.

This is beautiful. My sister LOVES Disney films and she showed me this.

I hope you don't mind if I ask you a quick question...the frame that you make your sculptures in: is that something you bought? or made yourelf?

Thank you, Kathleen=). It depends, I sometimes make the matting myself but sometimes I buy it at Michaels. I happened to have a coupon so I bought this particular matting, I then place it in a shadowbox glass frame (not shown here bc it doesn't photograph well behind glass).
This might be confusing, but I make a structure out of cardstock paper first that fits inside the shadowbox and then I build everything in that. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the tips, Britni.

I was having a heck of a time trying to figure out how to "frame" a paper sculpture.
I just got into the craft recently. I understand about layering ,using foamcore to make things pop out, using quilling techniques, etc. etc. But I couldn't figure how to "frame it" It was driving me nuts! lol.

Thanks again!

Kathleen

Cinderella's my favorite Disney film too and you did a gorgeously splendid piece! There is so much joy and magic and beauty and fun all in one scene! I love your merging of Retta Scott and the original into one successful new design! Because I'd like to be honest, I am not crazy about the rectangular-shaped pieces on the sides of her gown you added, and her hair could be higher like in your original drawing, and I think the horses having black stirrups is weird...and I would have put a top on the coach...but other than those few things, I think every single other thing in your new design is so perfectly wonderful! I love Lucifer and the horse he's on! Their expressions are gold! And the way you wrapped the magic about Cinderella...incredible and truly magical. Don't know how you did all this!
