Mary Poppins-Figure 1 Finished

I'm finally finished with Mary Poppins but, believe it or not, this is just the model to give away! I am doing a piece for Mary Poppins 50th anniversary and I needed to send in the art of what I would be submitting before being chosen to be one of a few artists that will be able to complete their pieces and compete. I decided to actually complete Mary AND send in a general sketch of the final piece because its very difficult to explain and much more beautiful in person. Hopefully all the work will pay off and I will be chosen to do the final piece! If chosen I will make her again, plus Bert and the penguins.

Mary Poppins

 Just to share what I've been working on, Mary Poppins and all her magic and charm. Those legs and shoes (only one shoe shown) were inspired by paper sculpture artist Sher Christopher. I love how this is turning out but there is still so much to do.

I'm working away on a few projects, Mary Poppins has the closest due date, but inbetween I have been working on these. I plan to do them as paper sculptures but I'm also painting them for Mothers and Fathers Day cards. I'm selling both the paper sculptures and cards at a Women's Tea at our church to raise money for missions. There's a missions family in Mexico that needs another Corriente Cow or Bull.
